Terra Daffón was nurtured in the University of the Philippines in Diliman where she finished her Bachelor of Arts major in English and Comparative Literature under the tutelage of some of the most eminent Filipino writers. She began her career as an instructor in language and literature, started to pursue an MA, but was quickly engulfed by the corporate world. She had a long, stellar career in advertising rising from copywriter to VP creative director. She later joined the Associated Broadcasting Company (ABC5) where she rose to senior vice president for corporate affairs handling corporate planning, communication, and social responsibility projects.

She is a Palanca awardee for the essay, recipient of an Anvil Award of Excellence for her commemorative campaign on the centennial of the Philippine revolution, a former fellow in the Silliman Writers Workshop and the Philippine Center for PEN International, and a long-time juror in the Catholic Mass Media Awards. She has authored and produced documentaries and books, including Gabaldon the definitive book on century-old Philippine schoolhouses as historical and cultural heritage. She was and remains an activist with an old but well-tended fire.
