The Xiang Xue Zhuang Collection: Donatons to the Asian Civilisations Museum
- About the Book
This book documents one of the first comprehensive collections of Chinese art in Singapore, begun in the 1930s. Dr Tan Tsze Chor favoured Chinese paintings of the 19th and 20th century, but also amassed significant holdings of ceramics – particularly 17th-century blue and white, and Yixing teapots – and carved seals, including a group of personal seals of the painter Qi Baishi. In English and Chinese, this volume chronicles Dr Tan’s collection, much of which has been donated to the Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore.
