Japan and the World

In 2016, Japanese Studies at the University of Cambridge launched the Japan and the World campaign, aiming to promote research that connects Japan to the rest of the world and that engages with scholarship beyond Japan. The mission of this book series, therefore, is to encourage academically grounded approaches and publications that both offer new insights into Japan from a global perspective and engages with methodologies and theories of a disciplinary nature. The book series is open to scholarship in any discipline but also to manuscripts that take a more inter-disciplinary approach, with a focus on high impact monographs. Selection of manuscripts will be made by faculty members at the University of Cambridge in consultation with relevant experts in the field. The series is managed by Japanese Studies at Cambridge in close collaboration with the University of Hawai`i Press. The series is committed to a quick turnaround in reviewing proposals and manuscripts and provides both financial and editorial support throughout the publication process.
