Catalogue of Sanskrit Manuscripts: Early Acquisitions and the Nepal Collection

This first-ever catalogue of the Danish National Library’s rich Sanskrit holdings analyzes and describes three of its manuscript collections: The first comprises manuscripts written in either Bengali, Telugu, or Sinhalese script; the second is mostly written in Bengali script and focuses on Ayurvedic medicine; the third and largest collection originates from Nepal and is highly heterogenous in nature.

  Hartmut Buescher is an independent scholar who has long worked in the fields of Indology, Tibetology and Buddhist studies. He is the author of two earlier volumes in the COMDC series – the Catalogue of Sanskrit Manuscripts: Early Acquisitions and the Nepal Collection (2011) and, together with Tarab Tulku, the Catalogue of Tibetan Manuscripts and Xylographs (2000) – plus two monographs in the fields of Indo-Tibetan philology and philosophy.
