The Anthropic Copyright Settlement resolves a class action lawsuit brought against Anthropic over the company’s use of allegedly pirated books to train its AI model. More than 600 titles published by UH Press were included in the suit.
A U.S. federal judge gave final approval to a landmark $1.5 billion settlement in July 2026, resolving a major class-action copyright lawsuit against AI developer Anthropic.
